2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics Pre-Opening Ceremony TV and Announcer Schedule

The networks of NBCUniversal — NBC, NBCSN, CNBC, USA Network and Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA — will present the most live Winter Olympics ever, when the XXIII Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea, begin on Feb. 8.

Figure skating, alpine skiing, or snowboarding will be featured live in primetime every night on NBC from Thursday, Feb. 8, to Saturday, Feb. 25, (excluding Feb. 9, which will feature the Opening Ceremony), as viewers across the country will watch the likes of Mikaela Shiffrin, Lindsey Vonn, Ted Ligety, Nathan Chen, Shaun White, and Chloe Kim pursue Olympic gold.

For the first time ever at a Winter Olympics, NBC will broadcast Olympic primetime competition live across all time zones. Whether daytime, primetime or “Primetime Plus” (formerly the late night show), all U.S. viewers will be able to watch NBC’s coverage of the XXIII Olympic Winter Games from PyeongChang, South Korea, at the same time.

NBCOlympics.com will offer live streaming of the NBC broadcast network, including primetime and Primetime Plus, and NBCSN will air live primetime coverage, both firsts at a Winter Games.

Highlights of the Pre-Opening Ceremony Events:

Figure Skating’s team competition begins (on NBC) with the men’s and pairs’ short programs. Top contenders include the United States, Olympic Athlete(s) from Russia and Canada.

Qualifying-round action in Freestyle Skiing features the men’s and women’s moguls (on NBC), featuring the men’s favorite Canadian Mikael Kingsbury.

The Olympic debut of Curling’s mixed doubles event (on NBCSN) gets underway with the U.S. brother-sister duo of Matt and Becca Hamilton facing Olympic Athlete(s) from Russia in a round-robin match. Mixed doubles round-robin competition continues on Feb. 8 with China taking on reigning world champion Switzerland.

45-year-old Japanese legend Noriaki Kasai will be participating in his record-breaking eighth Winter Olympics in the men’s individual normal hill ski jumping event (on NBCSN). Top contenders in the field include 2014 Olympic gold medalist Kamil Stoch of Poland.
