New World is very heavy on the processor and GPU, so the higher this hardware is, the better. Unfortunately, the game requires a large amount of memory space due to how vast its map and content are. While the SSD is the recommended disk for New World, players can still choose to run an HDD disk even if they have most of the ideal PC specs.

Unlike other games, changing the settings of the Lighting, Object, and Water details barely impacts Lost Ark’s performance. The most impactful aspects are the Terrain Details and Shadow Details, which players can fiddle with. Theoretically, they should be kept at the lowest setting. However, doing so will create weird and distracting effects, so it is best to keep them between Medium and Low.  

Nameplates are set to 15 by default. Going above this number will definitely strain the game’s FPS. Meanwhile, going below 15 won’t yield any improvements to the frames-per-second, but it does clear out unnecessary clutter making the game look cleaner.
