Freeform to Offer Full First Season of Drama ‘Beyond’ Online After Linear Debut

Freeform announced at Comic Con in New York that the first full season of drama “Beyond” will be available digitally after its linear launch on Freeform with a two-hour installment on Monday, January 2. All first season episodes of “Beyond” will be immediately available on multiple digital platforms, including the Freeform app, Freeform.com, On Demand and Hulu.

“Beyond” is a one-hour drama about Holden (Burkely Duffield), a young man who wakes up from a coma after 12 years and discovers new abilities that propel him into the middle of a dangerous conspiracy. Now Holden must try and figure out what happened to him during those 12 years; how to survive a world that changed while he was gone; and answer the question, why did this happen to him?

“The premiere of ‘Beyond’ marks an important milestone in the history of Freeform, nearly a year since our rebrand,” said Tom Ascheim, president, Freeform. “One of the promises we made to our audience at the time was to create content they love and to make that content easily accessible. ‘Beyond’ helps us live up to both promises. In the same way we modernized our brand, we are modernizing how we bring our shows to our audience. ‘Beyond’ is our first, and definitely not our last, ‘binge-from-the-start’ show.”

The series also stars Romy Rosemont (“Glee”) as Diane Matthews, Michael McGrady (“American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson”) as Tom Matthews, Jonathan Whitesell (“Once Upon a Time”) as Luke Matthews, Dilan Gwyn (“Da Vinci’s Demons”) as Willa and Jeff Pierre (“Shameless”) as Jeff McArdle.

From Imperative Entertainment and Automatik, “Beyond” is created, written and executive produced by Adam Nussdorf (“Once Upon a Time in Wonderland”). Tim Kring (“Heroes”), David Eick (“Battlestar Galactica”), Steven Adelson, Zak Kadison, Justin Levy and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones will serve as executive producers.
