Friday Ratings: The 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics Sinks to Another Low

Excluding streaming, night 14 of the Tokyo Summer Olympics on NBC dipped to its lowest primetime delivery to-date: 9.02 million viewers and a 1.9 rating/16 share in adults 18-49. No matter how NBC spins it, consider this Summer Olympics a colossal disaster in the traditional Nielsen ratings. As a reminder, results for any live sporting event are always approximate.

Fox aired perennial “WWE Friday Night Smackdown!” (see averages above). The CW offered dramas dramas “Burden of Truth” (Viewers: 348,000) and “Dynasty” (Viewers: 250,000), which both did not register in adults 18-49. And the rest of the evening were repeat telecasts.
