ABC Announces 15 Series Renewals

The Breakdown is Five Comedies, Six Dramas and Four Non-Scripted Series

ABC has issued pick-up orders to 15 current series, consisting of five comedies, six dramas and four non-scripted series. The sitcoms (in alphabetical order) are “blackish,” “Fresh off the Boat,” “The Goldbergs,” “The Middle” and “Modern Family.” The dramas are “Grey’s Anatomy,” “How to Get Away with Murder,” “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Quantico” and “Scandal.” And the non-scripted returnees are “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” “The Bachelor,” “Dancing with the Stars” and “Shark Tank.” The network has not confirmed the number of episodes ordered for each series.

Current ABC series waiting in the wings for a potential pick-up – or cancellation – include sitcoms “Last Man Standing,” “Dr. Ken” and just launched “The Real O’Neals”, dramas “American Crime,” “Castle,” “Marvel’s Agent Carter” and “Nashville;” and musical parody “Galavant.”

  1. Are you kidding me Once Upon a Time should be gone so should Marvel’s Agents of Shield. Shaking my head

    • Of course they should. ABC seems intent on losing what little audience it has.

      It’s amazing they fired Paul Lee to renew all of his favorite flops.

  3. Grey’s, because of syndication, and Shark Tank (maybe because it’s cheap) are the only ones that should not have been canned.

    ABC is on “tilt” and self-destructing.

  4. Fresh Off the Boat was my choice. It’s really growing on me. Eddie is the only weak link. I would love it if it focused more on the parents and Cattleman’s Ranch. Those are the funniest moments.
