ABC has ordered six additional episodes of freshman drama “Big Sky,” bringing the season one order to 16 hours. “Big Sky” is the first new series in this unprecedented fall TV season to receive a backend episode order. News of the additional order of “Big Sky” comes only three episodes into the season, which premiered on November 17.

Kelley, “Big Sky” follows private detectives Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) and Cody Hoyt (Ryan Phillippe) as they join forces with Cody’s estranged wife, ex-cop Jenny Hoyt (Kylie Bunbery) to search for two sisters who have been kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote highway in Montana. The series is based on the 2013 novel “The Highway” by C.J. Box.
