AMC Orders Drama ‘Lodge 49’

AMC has given a straight-to-series order to new drama “Lodge 49” from Peter Ocko (“Pushing Daisies,” “The Office”), who will also serve as showrunner, Jim Gavin (“Middle Men”), Paul Giamatti (“Billions,” “Sideways”) and Dan Carey (“Outsiders,” “Hoke”). Set in Long Beach, California and created and written by Gavin, “Lodge 49” tells the story of a charming deadbeat surfer named Dud who joins a fraternal order following the death of his father as he searches for meaning in his life.

“Lodge 49 is a show that defies easy categorization. It is, at once, a show about a loveable loser, the idea that life can be magical if you look at it from the right angle, what it means to be on the fringe, and the importance of community. Ten initial episodes of “Lodge 49” have been ordered for season one.
