AMC Renews ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ for Season Three

Sixteen New Episodes Orders (Bringing the Total to 37)

AMC, not surprisingly, has issued a third season pick-up to “Fear The Walking Dead” with an order for 16 new episodes for 2017. Debuting on August 23, 2015 and created by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson, ”The Walking Dead” prequel follows a dysfunctional family composed of high school guidance counselor Madison Clark (Kim Dickens), her English teacher boyfriend Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis), her daughter Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), her drug-addicted son Nick (Fran Dillane), and Travis’ son Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie) from a previous marriage at the onset of the zombie apocalypse.

The first half of the current second season returned on April 10, with a total of 21-episodes produced at season end this summer. Based on the Live+3 Day ratings, the “Fear The Walking Dead” sophomore season-opener scored 8.8 million viewers, 5.3 million adults 18-49 and 5.7 million adults 25-54.
