Bravo Orders ‘Blind Date’ Reboot

Relationship Themed Game Show is the Latest Series to Make a Comeback

Bravo has given a series order to a new version of relationship themed game show “Blind Date,” which originally aired in first-run syndication from 1999 to 2006. The logline from Bravo: Dating has always been an awkward, contentious, sexy, and hilarious adventure. However, the magic of a blind date has gone away, replaced by the algorithms of dating apps, which have eroded dating into a casual meet-up to exchange preconceived notions. Sometimes you’re better off just going in blind!

Each half-hour of “Blind Date” will feature strangers who are paired up and sent off on a blind date. The cameras will follow every move as a narrator weaves in humorous commentary with the help of graphics, animations and thought bubbles to ensure nothing goes unsaid.”

There is no word yet on a premiere date or host. Billy Taylor will serve as executive producer for Universal Television Alternative Studio. Casting is already underway.
