CBS Announces 11 Series Renewals

'Tis the Season for Pick-Ups

CBS has issued renewals on 11 series for 2016-17 and they are, in alphabetical order: “The Amazing Race,” “Blue Bloods,” “Elementary,” “Hawaii Five-0,” “Madam Secretary,” “Mom,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “NCIS: New Orleans,” “Scorpion,” “2 Broke Girls” and “Survivor.” “The Big Bang Theory” is entering the final season of a prior three season renewal and “60 Minutes,” of course, will also return.

Waiting word on their fates are “Criminal Minds” and recently introduced spin-off “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders,” “Code Black,” “CSI: Cyber,” “Life in Pieces,” “Limitless,” “Supergirl,” “The Odd Couple” and “Undercover Boss.” Veteran “48 Hours” on Saturday is also a virtual lock.

  1. Glad, Blue Bloods, NCIS new Orleans and Los Angeles, and Scorpion are being renewed! Hope Supergirl also gets renewed as well as Criminal Minds. Holding off on the spinoff as its only aired two episodes. Also hope though they bring back Code Black as well.

  2. Like the chances for both Criminal Minds shows to join this list. Ditto for Life in Pieces. I don’t give the Odd Couple or Code Black much of a chance. Supergirl looked much better in January. I’d say that and Limitless are both 50-50 now with Supergirl having a slight edge if only 1 returns. If Supergirl can make the financials work out, it should move over to the CW. Undercover Boss is probably a lock for midseason. I don’t think the Rush Hour series has much of a shot.

  3. Thanks for the info, Marc! Really relieved about Hawaii Five O. I also like the new Criminal Minds with Gary Senise – but then I love anything with him. What about CSI Cyber? Don’t care for Life in Pieces, but The Odd Couple isn’t bad. And Undercover Boss is always good for a mushy heart and some tears.

  4. (Papa) “N.C.I.S.” had already received a 3-Year renewal (minus Michael Weatherly), hadn’t they? ~ Do also hope “Code Black” receives the ‘nod’ as well. They just seem to be hitting their character ‘chemistry’ stride in the last couple episodes.
