CBS has announced a new spin-off, “CSI: Vegas”, from its “CSI” franchise. The original “CSI” ran for 15 seasons (from 2000 to 2015) and, to-date, has spun-off three series: “CSI” Miami” (2002-12), “CSI: NY” (2004-13) and “CSI: Cyber” (2005-16).

“CSI: Vegas” will pick up six years after “CSI” concluded and find William Peterson’s Gil Grissom and Jorja Fox’s Sara Sidle surrounded by a new crop of Las Vegas-based CSIs played by Matt Lauria (“Friday Night Lights”, “Kingdom”), Paula Newsome (“Chicago Med”, “Barry”), Mel Rodriguez (“Last Man on Earth”) and Mandeep Dhillon (“After Life”). Additionally, Wallace Langham, who played lab tech David Hodges, will also be back as a series regular.

“CSI: Vegas” was initially slated to premiere last fall, but was delayed due to the coronavirus. “Elementary” vet Jason Tracey will serve as showrunner and executive producer. The number of episodes ordered has not been confirmed.
