CBS Renews ‘Mom’ for Two More Seasons

CBS sitcom “Mom,” starring Ana Faris and multiple Emmy Award winner Allison Janney, has been renewed for additional seasons. That will take it through at least the spring of 2021, marking eight seasons.

“We’re exceptionally proud to have ‘Mom’ on our air; a high-quality, signature comedy with characters viewers love, that also brings strength and stability to our lineup,” said Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment. “Under Chuck Lorre’s extraordinary leadership and with his outstanding writing and production team, we look forward to having ‘Mom’ on CBS for many years to come.”
 
Debuting on Sept. 23, 2013, ‘Mom’ stars Christy Plunkett (Faris), a single mother who, after dealing with her battle with alcoholism and drug abuse, decides to restart her life in Napa, California. “Her mother Bonnie Plunkett (Allison Janney) is also a recovering addict.
