CBS Renews ‘The Equalizer’ for Season 2

Just four episodes in an CBS has greenlit its reboot of “The Equalizer”, starring Queen Latifah, for a second season. Queen Latifah stars as Robyn McCall, a former CIA operative who now uses her skills to help people with nowhere else to turn. The cast also includes Chris Noth, Lorraine Toussaint, Tory Kittles, Adam Goldberg, Liza Lapira and Laya DeLeon Hayes.

“‘The Equalizer’ has proven more than equal to the task of engaging viewers and racking up wins on Sunday night,” said CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl. “We’re extremely proud to see this outstanding broadcast drama punch through the competitive landscape and return for a second season.”

Debuting in the post-“Super Bowl” slot, an encore telecast of “The Equalizer” got another boost this past Sunday out of highly seen two-hour special, “Oprah With Meghan and Harry.”
