CNFR Preview:

At the College National Finals Rodeo, 400 of the best college rodeo athletes in the country will participate in nine different rodeo disciplines. These athletes come from more than 100 different educational institutions and represent 11 different regions.

 

At the CNFR, which takes place annually in Casper, Wyoming, approximately 400 cowboys and cowgirls from more than 100 different universities and community colleges compete.

Participants compete throughout the year in one of NIRA’s 11 areas for the opportunity to rope or ride at the Canadian National Finals Rodeo.

The CNFR will consist of the top three students in each event, as well as the top two men’s and women’s teams from each of the 11 regions that make up NIRA.

Format:

Each individual will compete in a total of three rounds, with the top 12 competitors from each round advancing to the championship round.

At this event, the champions of the individual events, the men’s and women’s all-around competitions, as well as the teams competing for the national title, are determined.

Even though scores and times are very significant, the championships for both the all-around and the team events are decided by a point system.

College National Finals Rodeo 2022 Schedule:

  • Sunday, June 12: 1 p.m. & 4 p.m. “Bulls, Broncs & Breakaway”
  • Monday, June 13: 7 a.m. slack
  • Tuesday, June 14: 7 a.m. slack & 7 p.m. 1st Performance
  • Wednesday, June 15: 7 p.m. 2nd Performance
  • Thursday, June 16: 7 p.m. 3rd Performance, Ribbon Night at the Rodeo for Cancer Awareness
  • Friday, June 17: 7 p.m. 4th Performance, Military Night
  • Saturday, June 18: 7 p.m. Championship Round

The event will take place at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper, Wyoming You will need to buy the tickets for the event to watch it from the venue.
