The CW to Revive ‘MADtv’

Eight New One-Hour Episodes Have Been Ordered

Sketch comedy series “MADtv,” which originally aired on Fox on Saturday in late night from 1995 to 2009, is being revived by The CW. The network has ordered eight new one-hour episodes from Telepictures, with a premiere date and time to be announced at a later time. This new “MADtv” will feature up-and-coming new comedy voices and appearances from returning cast members of the original series as hosts of each episode.

Encore episodes from the 14 seasons of the show’s original late-night run are currently available to stream on CW Seed, The CW’s digital network. The CW also recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of “MADtv” with a reunion special of highlights from the original series and new material featuring 19 returning series alumni.

“MADtv” will be executive produced by David E. Salzman, Mark Teitelbaum, and John Montgomery.
