Day 16 of Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics TV and Announcer Schedule on NBC, USA Network, CNBC, NBCSN, Golf Channel, Telemundo and Peacock

Highlights of Day 16 Events

NBC Olympics’ commentators Terry Gannon, Tara Lipinski, and Johnny Weir will host NBC’s primetime coverage of the Closing Ceremony for the Games of the XXXII Olympiad from Tokyo Olympic Stadium. Coverage begins in primetime, Sunday, August 8 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC.

Gannon, Lipinski, and Weir previously served as hosts for the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics Closing Ceremony.

Sunday’s Closing Ceremony will also feature interviews, profiles, a countdown of the top five moments of the games, and more. In addition, the Jonas Brothers will debut an Olympics inspired edition of their hit single “Remember This” recounting unforgettable moments of the Tokyo Olympics, and Dwayne Johnson introduces athletes in the upcoming Paralympics.

Lewis Johnson, who worked the Tokyo Olympics Opening Ceremony, will serve as a reporter for the Closing Ceremony for the third time (2002 Salt Lake, 2016 Rio).

Kara Winger, who in Tokyo competed in her fourth Summer Games in javelin, was selected by her teammates to serve as the flag bearer for the United States.

Mike Tirico will open Sunday’s primetime coverage on NBC at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT with Tokyo Gold, a look back at the Games’ most memorable performances, including Steve Kornacki with some of the Games’ most unique stories.

Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila, the hosts of Peacock’s Tokyo LIVE throughout the Games, will host live Closing Ceremony coverage at 7 a.m. ET/4 a.m. PT across Peacock, NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app. Sunday’s Closing Ceremony is the fifth consecutive that NBCUniversal will stream live.

NBC Olympics.com and the NBC Sports app will also stream NBC’s fully-produced presentation of the Closing Ceremony at 8 p.m. ET. Following the broadcast, NBC’s primetime presentation of the Closing Ceremony will be available on-demand on Peacock.
