    NBC ranked #2 in primetime among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and total viewers and ranked #2 or tied for #2 among those nets in all other key measures.

    The NBC News Special “A Toast to 2015!” (1.0/4 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET):

    Retained 100% of its year-ago rating in 18-49 (1.0 vs. 1.0 on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014) and grew in total viewers (4.764 million 4.717 million).

    Ranks #2 in the time period on the Big 4 in 18-49, total viewers and nearly all other key demographics.

    Grows steadily throughout its two hours, with this half-hour track in 18-49: 0.8, 1.0, 1.1, 1.2.

    Increases from its first half-hour to its fourth by +50% in adults 18-49 (from a 0.8 rating to a 1.2),
    +45% in adults 25-54 (1.1 to 1.6) and +15% in total viewers (4.4 million to 5.0 million).

    “NBC’s New Year’s Eve Game Night with Andy Cohen” (1.0/4 in 18-49, 3.8 million viewers overall from 10-10:58 p.m. ET):

    Ranks #2 in the slot among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, total viewers
    and all other key categories.

    Matches NBC’s time-period average last season in 18-49 (1.0 vs. 1.0, L+SD non-sports).

    In Late-Night Metered-Market Household Averages for Thursday night:

    From 11:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m., “NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly” averaged a 4.3 rating, 10 share in households in the 56 markets metered by Nielsen Media Research and a 2.7/10 in 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters. “NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson
    Daly” retained 88% of last year’s 4.9 in metered market households, which equaled the show’s #2 rating since 2009. Last night’s 2.7 in 18-49 in the local people meters retains 87% of the year-ago 3.1, which matched the show’s high since 2009.

    Other late-night averages last night in the markets metered by Nielsen included: “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2015” on ABC, 10.0/24 from 11:30 p.m.-1:15 a.m.,
    7.5/29 in 18-49 in the local people meters; and Fox’s “Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution,” 3.1/7 in metered-market households from 11 p.m.-12:30 a.m., 2.7/10 in 18-49 in the local people
    meters. National results for the December 31 late-night programs, including viewer numbers, are due from Nielsen Media Research on Thursday, Jan. 7.

    An encore telecast of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” airing at 12:30 a.m. ET,
    averaged a 2.2/6 in households in Nielsen’s 56 metered markets and a 1.2/6 in 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

    At 1:30 a.m. ET,a rebroadcast of “Late Night with Seth Meyers” averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.6/4 in the local people meters.

    At 2:30 a.m., an encore “Last Call with Carson Daly” averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households.

    ABC New Year’s Eve Primetime (8-11pm – 9.8 million and 2.8/10 in AD18-49): With its New Year’s Eve line-up, ABC ranked a dominant #1 on the final night of 2015 over its broadcast competition, winning all 6 half-hours of prime and more than doubling runner-up NBC’s NYE programming in Total Viewers (+123% – 9.8 million vs. 4.4 million)and nearly tripling it with Adults 18-49 (+180% – 2.8/10 vs. 1.0/4). In fact ABC beat the combined deliveries of CBS, NBC and Fox on the evening by 12% in Adults 18-49 (2.8/10 vs. 2.5/9). Please Note: ESPN carried the high-rated Cotton Bowl during Thursday’s primetime (Alabama-Michigan State).

    Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest (10-11pm – 13.1 million and 3.9/14 in AD18-49): Jumping over its lead-in at 10pm, ABC’s broadcast of Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest eclipsed its broadcast competition during the final hour of the night and ranked as TV’s #1 primetime entertainment program with Total Viewers and across each of the key Adult demos (AD18-34/AD18-49/AD25-54).

    · Head-to-head from 10-11pm, ABC’s Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest nearly quadrupled NBC’s New Year’s Eve Game Night with Andy Cohen (3.8 million and 1.0/4) in Total Viewers (+245%) and Adults 18-49 (+290%). ABC’s show also towered over Fox’s Pitbull’s New Year Resolution earlier in the evening (2.7 million and 0.9/3 from 8-10pm).

    · The 10-11pm segment of Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve grew for the 2nd-consecutive year in Total Viewers (+2% – 13.1 million vs. 12.9 million) and held even in Adults 18-49, drawing its 2nd-largest-ever overall audience – the special premiered on the Net in 2000.

    Social Activity: In its entirety, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2016 on ABC was the #1 most Tweeted program on New Year’s Eve ever, as measured by Nielsen Social (Source: Nielsen, 12/31/11 – 12/31/15).

    · A total of 3.5 million people in the U.S. saw one or more of the 529,000 Tweets sent about Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2016 on ABC on Thursday, 12/31/15, according to Nielsen. These Tweets were sent by 161,300 people and generated more than 13.9 million Twitter TV impressions.

    · The unique audience for New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2016 represented 32% of the total Twitter TV audience for the day.

    · The most Tweeted about minute occurred at 1:15 AM EST (4,155 Tweets during the minute) as viewers reacted to a performance by 5 Seconds of Summer.

  3. And here we are! New Year’s Rocking Eve did well, but for the 20 minutes I watched, Jenny McCarthy annoyed the heck out of me!

      • From what I’ve read, they wanted Jane Lynch to reprise her role, but she had a prior commitment so they went with Andy. That being said, I’ve never watched a show with him nor have any real interest to. Top Chef is the only Bravo show I’ve ever watched.

  4. Watched the ABC out of a sense of tradition, but switched to Anderson Cooper after a while. Man, can Jenny McCarthy’s 15 minutes be up already? What is this idiot even famous for in the first place, other than ruining The View and bringing back the measles?

  5. Will be glad to have more original programming coming back next week! I haven’t had a thing to watch in two weeks! LOL
