Fox Renews “New Girl” for Season Six

Fox, not surprisingly, has picked up sitcom “New Girl,” starring Zooey Deshanel for a sixth season with an unconfirmed number of new episodes for 2016-17. Debuting on Sept. 20, 2011, “New Girl” reached the 100-episode milestone this season. And it joins already renewed Fox comedies “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” “Bob’s Burgers,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “The Last Man on Earth;” and Fox dramas “Empire,” “Bones,” “Gotham,” “Rosewood” and “Lucifer.”
