Friday Final Nationals: Most-Watched Edition of ‘Dateline NBC’ in Two Months

NBC was the top network on the Friday before Christmas among households (3.3 rating/6 share), total viewers (4.92 million), adults 18-49 (1.0/4) and adults 25-54 (1.4/5).

A 2-hour edition of “Dateline NBC” was the #1 newsmagazine of the night in every key measure. Delivered its most-watched telecast since Oct. 2 (5.686 million) and equaled its season high in adults 25-54 (1.6).

“Dateline NBC” won the two-hour slot among the Big 4 in adults 18-49, total viewers and adults 25-54, and is #1 or tied for #1 among those nets in every key measure. It also grew week to week by +18 percent in adults 18-49 (1.1 vs. 0.9 from 10-11 p.m. on Dec. 11), +23 percent in adults 25-54 (1.6 vs. 1.3) and +37 percent in total viewers (5.646 million vs. 4.135 million).

The night’s other original offerings were, as follows:

ABC’s “Yes, Virginia” (Women 18-34: 0.3/1; Men 18-34: 0.2/1; Women 18-49: 0.6/2; Men 18-49: 0.4/2)

ABC’s “20/20” (Women 18-34: 0.5/2; Men 18-34: 0.3/2; Women 18-49: 0.9/3; Men 18-49: 0.6/2)

CBS’s “Home for the Holidays” (Women 18-34: 0.4/2; Men 18-34: 0.3/2; Women 18-49: 0.7/3; Men 18-49: 0.5/2)

NBC’s “Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon” (Women 18-34: 0.6/3; Men 18-34: 0.3/2; Women 18-49: 0.8/3; Men 18-49: 0.6/3)

NBC’s “Dateline NBC” (Women 18-34: 0.7/3; Men 18-34: 0.4/2; Women 18-49: 1.4/5; Men 18-49: 0.7/3)

Fox’s “MasterChef Junior” (Women 18-34: 0.8/4; Men 18-34: 0.5/3; Women 18-49: 1.3/5; Men 18-49: 0.9/4)

Fox’s “World’s Funniest” (Women 18-34: 0.5/2; Men 18-34: 0.4/2; Women 18-49: 0.7/2; Men 18-49: 0.5/2)
