Friday Ratings: ABC and CBS Share Dominance; Modest Return for ‘Undercover Boss’ on CBS

In season premiere was “Undercover Boss” on CBS at 3.72 million viewers (#2) and a 0.5 rating/4 share in adults 18-49 (#3) at 8 p.m. ET. It trailed ABC’s “Shark Tank”, which won the time period 4.31 million viewers and a 0.7/ 5 in the demo.

Next on CBS were dramas “Magnum P.I.” (Viewers: #1, 5.12 million; A18-49: #3, 0.4/ 3 at 9 p.m.) and “Blue Bloods” (Viewers: #1 for the night; A18-49: #2, 0.4/ 3 at 10 p.m.). ABC’s “20/20”, meanwhile, was above average at 4.61 million viewers (#2) and a 0.7/ 5 (#1) in the demo from 9-11 p.m.

Elsewhere, NBC featured “The U.S. Figure Skating Championship” in primetime. See network averages above. Fox scored a typical tally with “WWE Friday Night Smackdown.” And The CW featured “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” (Viewers: #5, 892,000; A18-49: #5, 0.1/ 1 at 8 p.m.) and “Nancy Drew” (Viewers: #5, 455,000; A18-49: #5, 0.1/ 0 at 9 p.m.).
