FX Orders ‘Feud’ Anthology Series from Ryan Murphy

First Season to Star Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon

Ryan Murphy, the creator of “American Horror Story” and “American Crime Story,” will add a third dramatic anthology series to his growing FX resume – “Feud.” The cable net has given a straight-to-series order for eight episodes, with the first season of “Feud” for Fox 21 Television Studios centering around the legendary backstage battle between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis. Susan Sarandon will play Davis and Jessica Lange will portray Crawford. Each installment of the anthology will center around a different epic battle.

Alfred Molina, Stanley Tucci, Judy Davis and Dominic Burgess will also be featured. Brad Pitt will serve as an exec producer will Murphy and Dede Gardner with Sarandon and Lange producing. Murphy, who also created anthology Fox anthology “Scream Queens,” is expected to direct several episodes.

“Feud” will begin production this fall and will debut in 2017 on FX.
