    • Hasn’t for years…

When Less Moonves took a step back, CBS lost the ability to find hits. Perhaps Nina Tassler copied the practices of the failed competition, but regardless, they desperately need a hit (like everyone else!)

  1. In this day and age, Fox must be pretty happy with The Gifted. The split looks good. And ABC must be over the moon with The Good Doctor.

    • The Good Doctor is doing more than twice the demo numbers that Quantico did at the end of last year in the same time slot. Why ABC renewed it, I’ll never figure out.

      • Agreed. I know that there are things that go on behind the scenes that we can’t/don’t know (international sales, deals under the table, etc.) but so many renewals are a complete mystery to me.

      • Political games. In the absence of hits, they renew flops and they don’t pick them because of ratings (they’re flops!!)…

    • If they’re happy with failure, then yes, they’ll be happy… The sad thing is they may have internalized the fact they always fail and think 4.8 million viewers is great… 🙁

  2. Lucifer did what I expected. The Gifted did pretty good and got a lot of buzz. I enjoyed both last night.

Good Doctor ABC must be happy after recent busts they tried in that time slot in the past.

CBS has some holes to fix. Poor Scorpion. I don’t know what has happened. The quality is still good.

  3. Huge drop for BBT. That’s not good. Network TV is weeks from becoming hit-less (on the scripted side) for the first time ever… 🙁

The Good Doctor is surprisingly still solid. Looks downright brilliant compared to the rest of the car crashes that premiered this season.

  4. I do love the spin that consists in comparing a show with the flop in front of it and try to pass it off as a hit…
