HBO Announces Fourth Season Reboot of ‘In Treatment’

Drama Series Originally Debuted in 2003

The Peabody, AFI award and Emmy award winning drama “In Treatment” will be returning for a fourth season on HBO with Uzo Aduba set to star. Production is slated to begin this fall under COVID-19 guidelines, with a debut scheduled for 2021. The series will air on HBO and be available to stream on HBO Max.

Uzo Aduba (“Mrs. America” and “Orange is the New Black”) will play the lead role of the therapist at the center of the season, Dr. Brooke Lawrence. Additional cast to be announced.

The original “In Treatment” starred Gabriel Byrne and Dianne Wiest, and was based on the Israeli series “BeTipul.” “In Treatment” originally ran for three seasons and over 100 episodes on HBO from 2008-2010. It received seven Emmy nominations during its run. Wiest won the Emmy for best supporting actress in a drama while Glynn Turman won for best guest actor in a drama. Byrne won a Golden Globe for the show in 2009.
