HBO Max Axes ‘Head of the Class’ Reboot

Ten Episodes Were Produced in the Now First and Only Season

HBO Max has announced the cancellation of its “Head of the Class” reboot, which was a new version of the 1986-91 sitcom and revolved around a group of overachieving high school students who meet their greatest challenge — a teacher, Alicia Gomez (Isabella Gomez) who wants them to focus less on grades and more on experiencing life.  The multi-camera series, from executive producer Bill Lawrence and executive producers/showrunners Amy Pocha and Seth Cohen, produced 10 episodes in its now first and only season.

In addition to Gomez, the cast of “Head of the Class” included Jorge Diaz, Jolie Hoang Rappaport, Gavin Lewis, Dior Goodjohn, Brandon Severs, Adrian Matthew Escalona, and Katie Beth Hall, with the original series’ Robin Givens guest-starring alongside Christa Miller.
