John Oliver Points Out That Al Roker Promoting Your Show on Thanksgiving Day May Not Be A Good Thing

On the Nov. 17, 2019 edition of HBO’s “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver”, the “And Now” segment was entitled “A Look Back at Al Roker Delivering the Thanksgiving Kiss of Death” which featured a montage of clips of “The Today Show” weatherman at various Thanksgiving Day parades providing on-air promotions of NBC shows that wound up getting canceled shortly thereafter, like “Marry Me” (2014), “Mercy” (2009), “Happy Family” (2003), “Committed” (2004), “Kath & Kim” (2008), “Knight Rider” (2008), “Constantine” (2014), “Telenovela” (2015), and “Clash of the Choirs” (2007).

Roker’s “kiss of death” even extended to one of “The Today Show’s” own: Matt Lauer (2017)!
