Modest Start for Canadian Drama ‘Burden of Truth’ on The CW

Ratings Breakdown:
NBC’s sophomore “World of Dance” moved into the Wednesday 8-10 p.m. block with a respectable 3.6 rating/7 share in the household overnights. Comparably, a 3.7/ 7 in the 9 p.m. hour was more than enough to dominate the competition (including “Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back” on Fox, which scored a distant second-place 2.1/ 4). But CBS summer favorite “Big Brother” still won the 8 p.m. hour, with a 3.8/ 7. Note to Sam: There was no need to make unnecessary enemies as HOH in a week that should have been particularly easy.

In series premiere news, CW legal scripted drama “Burden of Proof” opened with a modest 0.8/ 2 in the 8 p.m. hour (which led into a 0.7/ 1 for soon-to-conclude “The Originals”).

Elsewhere, week three of “TKO: Total Knockout” on CBS, hosted by Kevin Hart, dipped to a series-low 1.8/ 3 in households (#3) from 9-10 p.m. Comparably, that was 51 percent below the 8:30 p.m. portion of “Big Brother” (3.7/ 7). Fox’s veteran “MasterChef” finished third in the 8 p.m. hour, with a 2.6/ 5. And failing freshman NBC drama “Reverie” averaged a 1.5/ 3 at 10 p.m., which finish third in the time period. The remainder of the evening was repeats.
