Monday Final Nationals: Sluggish Start for ‘Telenovela’ on NBC

“Monday Night Football” (Women 18-34: 2.45; Men 18-34: 5.31; Women 18-49: 3.10; Men 18-49: 6.55) that featured an entertaining finish culminating in a 19-16 Dallas Cowboys win versus the Washington football team put ESPN atop Monday night in total viewers and all key demos.

On the previous Monday, NBC’s new comedy “Superstore” received ample sampling out of “The Voice.” The same network did not get the same benefits for its comedy launch of “Telenovela” (10 p.m.: Women 18-34: 1.2/5; Men 18-34: 0.5/2; Women 18-49: 1.7/5; Men 18-49: 1.1/4; 10:30 p.m.: Women 18-34: 0.7/3; Men 18-34: 0.3/1; Women 18-49: 1.1/4; Men 18-49: 1.3/4). Among adults 18–49, its 10 p.m. premiere squandered more than half of the 9:30 p.m. portion of “The Voice” (2.9 vs. 1.4) and then its second episode at 10:30 p.m. dropped another third.
