Ratings Breakdown:
ABC inched past CBS for overnight dominance on this final Monday in January, with a 0.1 household rating point advantage. “The Bachelor” scored a typical 4.6 rating/8 share in the household overnights from 8-10 p.m., which was just six percent below the 4.9/8 on the year-ago evening. And that led into a repeat of “The Good Doctor” at a 3.5/ 6 (#2) at 10 p.m., which trailed competing “Scorpion” on CBS (#1: 3.9/ 7) by 10 percent.

There were two series finales last night: NBC’s “The Brave” and “Valor” on The CW. Although “The Brave” is not officially canceled yet, a third-place 2.5/ 5 in the 10 p.m. hour pretty much seals its fate. And “Valor” earned its cancellation stripes with a 0.7/ 1 (#5) in the 9 p.m. hour, which was 56 percent below lead-in “Supergirl” (#5: 1.6/ 2 at 8 p.m.).

On CBS, sophomore sitcom “Man With a Plan” (#2: 4.5/ 7 at 8:30 p.m.) continues to fit particularly well out of “Kevin Can Wait” (#1t: 4.9/ 8), with both very likely to return next season. Also sophomore “Superior Donuts” followed on the Eye net with a 3.9/ 6 (#2) in the 9 p.m. half-hour, which led into a 3.4/ 6 (#3) for freshman “9JKL” at 9:30 p.m. With only 16 episodes ordered, next week will likely be the series-finale for “9JKL.”

Elsewhere, recent Fox medical drama “The Resident” (#3: 3.5/ 6 at 9 p.m.) remained very positive, with overnight growth out of “Lucifer” (#4: 2.7/ 4 at 8 p.m.) of 30 percent. One year earlier, “Lucifer” scored a 2.8/ 4 in the Monday 9 p.m. hour.

NBC had nothing unusual to report from 8-10 p.m., meanwhile, with the pairing of game show “The Wall” (#3: 3.4/ 5 at 8 p.m.) and comedy/reality series “Better Late Than Never” (#4: 2.9/ 5 at 9 p.m.).
