NBC Orders Dance Competition Series

Six-Episode Series From Jenna Dewan Tatum and Channing Tatum

NBC has picked-up six episodes of an untitled dance competition series from dancer and actress Jenna Dewan Tatum and her husband and former “Step Up” co-star Channing Tatum. The show will feature Dewan Tatum as a judge and mentor, and will be executive produced through Channing Tatum’s Purple Cup Productions and Free Association banner. The exact format has not been announced, but the descriptor is a “fresh take on the dance competition genre.”

Dewan Tatum, a former backup dancer for Janet Jackson, Pink, Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliott, currently recurs on CBS’s “Supergirl” as Lucy Lane and has made numerous appearances on Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance.”

  1. I’m interested in this I’m glad there’s a new dance competition in play here as NBC could be successful with it. I’m actually hoping it runs So You Think You Can Dance from FOX out of business. I wonder if this is coming on in the summer or during the regular season next year. If it’s either one it shouldn’t air unless it’s behind AGT, The Voice, or LBS.
