Netflix Greenlights Coming of Age Comedy From Mindy Kaling

Series Based on 'The Mindy Project' Star's Childhood

Netflix has given a straight-to-series order for a half-hour coming-of-age comedy series based on the childhood of “The Mindy Project” star Mindy Kaling. The untitled project, which has received an order for 10 episodes, explores the complicated life of a modern-day first-generation Indian-American teenage girl.

Kaling will serve as executive producer and showrunner alongside Lang Fisher (“The Mindy Project,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”).
