Olympians, Paralympians and Wellness Professionals Join Forces to Celebrate Youth Sports (Including a Golden Gift Bag That Keeps on Giving)

During the 11th annual Gold Meets Golden event, Olympic and Paralympic athletes met Hollywood talent to benefit Angel City Sports, a Los Angeles organization that helps support youths and adults with physical disabilities.

The event featured a special synchronized swimming musical performance by AQUABATIX to Mark Ronson’s now famous “Barbie” soundtrack. Gold medalist Scott Hamilton was presented with the first ever Midas Torch “Golden Legacy Award,” for his 40 years of excellence and service to the Olympic community by fellow champion Kristi Yamaguchi.

“It is always an honor to be part of Gold Meets Golden,” said Angel City Sports and founder, Clayton Frech. “This event helps us raise much needed funds for our programs, but also helps raise awareness for our work. We use sport to positively transform the lives of kids and adults with physical disabilities and are beyond grateful to the entire team, sponsors, and volunteers that make this magical event happen every year.”

Founder Charley Cullen Walters collaborated with AI Wellness to create a dynamic, multi-faceted event.

“Since we are all about health and technology for both industries, we worked with AI Wellness to invite a prolific group of doctors and wellness experts, including Dr Gideon Kwok, Dr. Nathan Bryan, Susan Shaffer, Penny Foskaris, Robbie Besner and Truman Hendry who all demonstrated their products and services to some of the world’s most elite athletes, Olympians and Paralympians alike.”

Walters was thrilled that so many sponsors wanted to participate in the gift bag.

“Some of our standout gift bag items this year that our VIP attendees really gravitated to for enhanced performance was the N101 Nitric Oxide supplements, which help with blood flow and is great for athlete recovery; Therasage’s Red Light Therapy device, which helps inflammation; and Lifesource Water packs for hydrogen-infused hydration, perfect for all types of active people,” Walters said.

Guests also loved luxury items like the “No Down time” facial peel gift certificates from Skin Perfect Medical clinic and Minky Couture comfortable blankets for keeping family and athlete travelers warm and comfortable on the go.

“And one of my personal favorites were the Exclusive Paris 2024 Mascot Stuffed Plush Toys which were a huge hit with all party attendees as a way to help celebrate the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games- they ended up in fun photos from all over the event!”

GMG will hold a special event at the Cannes Lions in June and in Paris, at the Olympics in July.

“This is a full-circle moment of the efforts of so much hard work,” added Walters. “We love how Gold Meets Golden will be bringing together multiple brands in several countries and backgrounds this summer, where GOLD is the commonality revered and strived for by all.”

At their upcoming Cannes and Paris events, Coca-Cola will display a history of past Olympic torches and a sustainable art sculpture of the Eiffel Tower, constructed from recycled Cola-Cola cans.
