Oprah Winfrey’s Two Night Town Hall on Racism Draws Just Under 11 Million Viewers

“OWN Spotlight: Where Do We Go From Here,” the two night telecast discussing racism hosted by Oprah Winfrey and airing across the 19 cable networks under the Discovery umbrella, drew a combined just under 11 million viewers on Tuesday, June 9 and Wednesday, June 10, according to Nielsen. That tally includes encore telecasts, and the number rises to 17.6 million viewers since its premiere including social media platforms.

The combined 2-hour telecast discussed systemic racism in America and the current state of a country which has seen mass protests since the death of George Floyd at the hands of police officers in Minnesota. It featured Winfrey in conversation with a range of Black thought leaders, activists and artists.
