Peacock in Final Talks to Reboot ‘NY Undercover’

Proposed Crime Solver Set 20 Years After the Original

Crime solver “NY Undercover,” which originally aired for four seasons on Fox (from 1994 to 1999), is about to be officially announced as an upcoming reboot on stream Peacock. From Universal Television, the project is being spearheaded by “The Chi” showrunner Ayanna Flloyd David and Dick Wolf, and is described as re-examination of the original series, reflecting the current times. The time frame is 20 years after the end of the original series.

The original series starred Malik Yoba and Michael DeLorenzo as undercover detectives, and was the first police drama on U.S. television to feature two people of color in the lead roles. It is unclear yet whether it will feature characters from the original series.
