Saturday Final Nationals: Slight Year-to-Year Decline for Big Ten Championship Game on Fox

Fox was the definitive winner on Saturday night with Penn State’s 38-31 victory over Wisconsin in the 2016 “Big Ten Championship Game.”
Compared to the year-ago Big Ten title game (Michigan State-Iowa, 12/05/15), Penn State-Wisconsin was down 6 percent in total viewers (9.189 million vs. 9.818 million) and down 11 percent in adults 18-49 (3.401 million/2.7 rating vs. 3.802 million/3.0 rating).

Fox’s Big Ten Championship Game outdrew ABC’s ACC Championship Game: Clemson-Virginia Tech on “Saturday Night Football” by 72 percent in total viewers.

Compared to the year-ago ACC title game (North Carolina-Clemson, 12/05/15), Clemson-Virginia Tech was down 23 percent in total viewers (5.338 million vs. 6.919 million) and down 32 percent in adults 18-49 (1.991 million/1.6 rating vs. 2.912 million/2.3 rating).
