Fox led the broadcast networks on Saturday night, thanks to Game 4 of MLB’s National League Championship Series (Philadelphia Phillies 10, San Diego Padres 6). Its half-hours were:

8:00 — Viewers: 3.86 million, A18-49: 0.8/ 8
8:30 — Viewers: 3.66 million, A18-49: 0.8/ 8
9:00 — Viewers: 4.06 million, A18-49: 0.9/ 8
9:30 — Viewers: 4.53 million, A18-49: 1.0/ 9
10:00 — Viewers: 4.54 million, A18-49: 1.0/ 9
10:30 — Viewers: 4.31 million, A18-49: 0.9/ 9

ABC, which normally tops the evening, was still a respectable runner-up with “Saturday Night Football” with the Big Ten college matchup of Minnesota at Penn State (with Penn State winning 45-17). Its half-hours were:

8:00 — Viewers: 3.54 million, A18-49: 0.7/ 6
8:30 — Viewers: 3.56 million, A18-49: 0.7/ 6
9:00 — Viewers: 3.36 million, A18-49: 0.7/ 6
9:30 — Viewers: 3.14 million, A18-49: 0.6/ 6
10:00 — Viewers: 2.67 million, A18-49: 0.6/ 5
10:30 — Viewers: 2.23 million, A18-49: 0.4/ 4

As usual, the 10 p.m. edition of CBS’ “48 Hours” (Viewers: #3, 2.36 million; A18-49: #3t, 0.2/ 2 from 10-11 p.m.) was the top non-sports telecast in prime time.

NBC was in all repeats.

The CW continued its modest Saturday evenings with the debut of “Criss Angel’s Magic with the Stars” (Viewers: #5, 375,000; A18-49: #5, 0.0/ 0 from 8-9 p.m.), followed by a new episode of “World.’s Funniest Animals” at 9 p.m. (Viewers: #5, 440,000; A18-49: #5, 0.1/ 1) and at 9:30 p.m. (Viewers: #5, 460,000; A18-49: #5, 0.1/ 1).

Although their fast affiliate figures were not yet available at post time, it is projected that ESPN (with the SEC football game of Mississippi State at Alabama), TBS (its 8-9 p.m. hour featured the conclusion of MLB’s Game 3 of the American League Championship Series; Houston Astros 5, New York Yankees 0) and Hallmark Channel (already celebrating the holiday season with the telefilm “We Wish You a Married Christmas”) to all be at least in the competitive mix and among the leading networks in prime time.
