Seth MacFarlane to Creator and Star in Fox Drama

13 Episodes Ordered for the 2017-18 TV Season

“Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane will be featured in a new one-hour dramedy he is creating for Fox that will take place 300 years in the future and will follow a “motley crew of space explorers” on a “not-so-top-of-the-line exploratory ship” named the Orville. Thirteen episodes of the untitled series have been ordered for the 2017-18 TV season.

In addition to countless voice acting credits, MacFarlane starred in “A Million Ways to Die” in the West, the 2014 comedy western which he also directed and co-wrote, and he hosted “The Academy Awards” in 2013. He also directed both “Ted” and “Ted 2,” and co-produced Fox’s documentary series “Cosmos: A Space Odyssey.”
