Sunday Final Nationals: Univision’s ‘La Banda’ Rises with Finale

NBC was the Sunday night winner once again in all key measures, thanks to prime time football.

The finale of the Univision’s music-based reality competition, “La Banda” reached 5.1 million total viewers who tuned in to all or part of the three-hour live broadcast from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. ET. The live telecast averaged 2.7 million total viewers, 1.1 million adults 18-49. With 518,000 young adults 18-34, Univision out-delivered ABC and CBS for the entire night in the demo.

§ Ranked within the top 10 programs on all of broadcast television with more young Adult 18-34 viewers than original airings of ABC’s “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” “Behind The Magic: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and “Blood & Oil” as well as CBS’ “Madam Secretary,” “The Good Wife” and “CSI: Cyber.”
§ Delivered more Adult 18-49 viewers than original airings of ABC’s “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” “Behind the Magic: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and “Blood & Oil” as well as CBS’ “CSI: Cyber.”
§ Consistently increased its audience in every hour throughout its entire three-hour broadcast with double-digit audience growth in its last hour compared to its first-hour among total viewers (+20%), adults 18-49 (+18%) and young adults 18-34 (+11%).

In its first full season run, “La Banda” reached 18.8 million Total Viewers 2+ and averaged 1.1 million adults 18-49 and nearly half-a-million young adults 18-34.
