Ratings Breakdown:
In sophomore season premiere news, CBS crime solver “Instinct,” starring Alan Cumming, returned with a second-place 2.7 rating/5 share in the overnight households in the 9 p.m. ET hour. Comparably, that trailed competing “The $100,000 Pyramid” on ABC (#1: 3.1/ 6) by 13 percent.

In series premiere news, “Just What Happened??! with Fred Savage,” a half-hour hybrid comedy/talk show hosted by Fred Savage dedicated to exploring the fandom surrounding fictional sci-fi thriller “The Flare,” was left at the starting gate on Fox with a mere 0.6/ 1 in households at 9:30 p.m. (#4).

And, in time period return news, CBS summer mainstay “Big Brother” finished second in the Sunday 8 p.m. hour with a 3.1/ 6. Comparably, that was six percent below the 3.3/ 6 for competing “Celebrity Family Feud” on ABC.

Elsewhere, ABC topped the Sunday 10 p.m. hour care of game show “To Tell the Truth,” hosted by Anthony Anderson, at a 2.7/ 5. Next in the time period was another episode of CBS All Access drama “The Good Fight” at a 2.5/ 5 on CBS. And The CW featured another original episode of legal drama “Burden of Truth” (#5: 0.4/ 1 at 8 p.m.).

    SUNDAY’S “TALENT” REBROADCAST COMBINES WITH THE EPISODE’S JUNE 18 ORIGINAL TO TOTAL 13.3 MILLION VIEWERS

    Sunday Primetime Ratings:

    An encore telecast of “America’s Got Talent” (0.5 rating in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET):

    · From its first half-hour to its fourth, increases by +75% in 18-49 (0.4 to 0.7) and +1.5 million persons or +60% in total viewers (2.5 million vs. 4.0 million).

    · The prelim 3.326 million for Sunday’s “Talent” encore combines with the episode’s June 18 original run (10.005 million) for a total of 13.331 million viewers.

    · For its second hour from 9-10 p.m., ties for #1 on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and adults, men and women 18-34 versus competition that included the originals “$100,000 Pyramid” on ABC and the season premiere of “Instinct” on CBS.

    A rebroadcast of “New Amsterdam” (0.3 rating in 18-49, 2.2 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET):

    · Grows versus last week’s rebroadcast in this time period in total viewers (2.154 million vs. 2.106 million).

    · Increases in total viewers for a second week in a row.

    · Tops CBS’ first-run “The Good Fight” in the timeslot in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and every key adult-female demo.

    · The prelim 2.154 million for Sunday’s “New Amsterdam” rebroadcast combines with the episode’s Feb. 19 first run (5.582 million) for a total of 7.736 million viewers.

    A rebroadcast of “Hollywood Game Night” averaged a 0.3 rating in 18-49 and 1.6 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET.
