Ratings Breakdown:
It was all about the “91st Academy Awards” on ABC, with the live telecast averaging an estimated 20.1 rating/33 share in the household overnights from 8-11:22 p.m. ET. The adult 18-49 tally was a 10.8 rating/37 share. Comparably, this household rating for “The Oscars” was seven percent above the 18.8/30 on the year-ago evening (translating into 26.5 million viewers, which was a viewership low). Following the late local news was the preview of new ABC dramedy “Whiskey Cavalier,” starring Scott Foley, at an estimated 3.4 household rating and a 1.0 rating in adults 18-49 from 11:58 p.m. – 12:58 a.m. ET on the East Coast (and beginning at 10 p.m. in other time zones). “Whiskey Cavalier” debuts in its regularly scheduled Wednesday 10 p.m. time period on March 6.
