Sunday Ratings: CBS Tops Night; NBC, Fox and The CW Struggle

There were two specials, “Step Into…the Movies with Derek and Julianne Hough” on ABC and “An Audience with Adele” on NBC. “An Audience With Adele” did not have much of an audience, with just 2.03 million viewers (#3) and a 0.3 rating/2 share in adults 18-49 (#3t) in the Sunday 9-11 p.m. ET block. It led out of game show “The Weakest Link” (Viewers: #3, 1.76 million; A18-49: #4, 0.2/ 2 at 8 p.m.). And “Step Into…the Movies with Derek and Julianne Hough” scored 3.11 million viewers (#2) and a 0.3/ 3 in the demo (#2t) at 10 p.m. It led out of a below average 5.20 million viewers (#2) and a 0.6/ 5 in adults 18-49 (#2, in the 8 p.m. hour, #1t at 9 p.m.) for “American Idol” from 8-10 p.m.

Earlier in the evening on ABC was veteran “America’s Funniest Home Videos” at 4.03 million viewers (#2) and a 0.4/ 3 in adults 18-49 (#2t) at 7 p.m.

In series finale news was The CW docuseries “March”, which marched off virtually invisible at a series low 103,000 viewers and not recorded results in adults 18-49 at 9 p.m. It led out of the time period premiere of “Riverdale” at an equally unimpressive 245,000 viewers and a 0.1/ 0 in the demo at 8 p.m.

Elsewhere, all individual program results for CBS are approximate given the live NCAA Basketball tournament led into the evening and delayed the start of the regular line-up on the East Coast. The grid is as follows – all estimated – and beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.
