In the battle of baseball versus football, “Sunday Night Football” on NBC (Dallas Cowboys 20, Minnesota Vikings 16) had the advantage over Game 5 of “The World Series” on Fox (Houston Astros 9, Atlanta Braves 5). Based on the 8-11 p.m. ET daypart, it averaged an estimated 12.80 million viewers and 3.5 rating/22 share in adults 18-49 versus 12.31 million viewers and a 2.7/18 in the demo for the baseball matchup.  These fast affiliate results for any live sporting event, of course, are only estimated. And the combined over 25 million viewers for both events only proves there still can be value on the linear platforms.

Elsewhere, CBS had the advantage over ABC, which both featured their regularly scheduled programs, as follows:
