Tamron Hall Exits NBC

Departure a Result of Megyn Kelly's Pending Arrival

On the heels of Megyn Kelly joining NBC next fall comes word that Tamron Hall has exited the network. Hall, who served as anchor on NBC and MSNBC and co-hosted the third hour of “Today” with Al Roker, was reportedly offered a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract but opted to exit. “We are disappointed that she has chosen to leave, but wish her the best,” said NBC in a statement.

NBC is weighing two options for Kelly: hosting the 9 a.m. ET hour, after Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie do the first two. Or, Kelly will host at 10 a.m. and that hour’s current duo, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, will move up one hour. Al Roker, meanwhile, will continue his duties as “Today” weatherman for the time being.
