TBS Nabs the Off-Net Rights to ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’

The Deal is for the First Five Seasons of the Sitcom

TBS has closed a deal with NBCUniversal for the first five seasons of low-rated Fox sitcom “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” The deal, which begins in 2017, is for exclusive linear and associated on-demand rights, including rolling episodes on TV Everywhere. Now in season four (and airing in the Tuesday 8 p.m. half-hour), the deal for season five in contingent on the show being renewed for next season.

Debuting on Sept. 17, 2013, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” follows a team of detectives headed by newly appointed Captain Ray Holt (Andre Braugher) at the fictional 99th Precinct in Brooklyn, New York. It has won two Creative Arts Emmy Awards, and two Golden Globe Awards: one for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy and one for Andy Samberg for Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy.
