TBS Renews ‘The Detour’ for Season Three

One the heels of the season two finale comes word that TBS has picked-up comedy “The Detour” for a third season. Premiering on April 11, 2016, “The Detour” follows Nate Parker, Jr. (Jason Jones), his wife Robin Randall (Natalie Zea), and their kids Delilah (Ashley Gerasimovich) and Jared (Liam Carroll) as they drive from their home in Syracuse, New York to Florida for a family vacation. The trip experiences several dramatic delays such as car trouble, run-ins with law enforcement, unforeseen medical mishaps, and intervening locals.

At the opening of the second season, Nate pursues a job opportunity and moves the family to New York City for a fresh start. Everyone is excited except for Robin, whose mysterious past may catch up with her. While Nate and Robin adjust to their new lives, children Jared (Carroll) and Delilah (Gerasimovich) dive headfirst into adolescence.

In addition to its regular cast, the second season featured a number of special guests, including series executive producer and co-creator Bee, James Cromwell, John Oliver, Laura Benanti, Jeffrey Vincent Parise and Max Casella. The series is executive produced by Jones, Bee, Brennan Shroff and Tony Hernandez.

The two episode second season finale airs tonight.
