The CW to Develop Drama ‘The Girls on the Bus’

The CW is developing drama “The Girls on the Bus” from Greg Berlanti and Julie Plec. The potential series, which was originally in development at Netflix, is an adaptation of Amy Chozick’s best-selling book “Chasing Hillary,” with Chozick set to co-write the series. Titled “The Girls on the Bus,” the series is inspired largely by the chapter of the same name from the book. It chronicles four female journalists who follow every move of a parade of flawed presidential candidates, finding friendship, love, and scandal along the way.

Although “Chasing Hillary” was based on Chozick’s experiences covering Hillary Clinton’s presidential bids, “The Girls on the Bus” reportedly won’t be about Clinton or the 2016 presidential election.

Plec will write the drama hopeful with Chozick, who’s serving as an executive producer alongside Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden.
