CBS again led Thursday night with its joint broadcast of Philadelphia Eagles at Carolina Panthers on “Thursday Night Football” with NFL Network.
TBS network’s telecast of the deciding Game 5 of the “2017 National League Division Series” with the Chicago Cubs versus the Washington Nationals averaged 7 million total viewers and ranked as the top-rated program of the day across all of cable television. The telecast peaked with an average of 9.2 million viewers from 10-10:15 p.m. ET.
Locally, the National League Division Series Game 5 telecast generated a 22.9 household rating in Chicago, the highest-rated League Division Series game on cable ever in the market. In Washington, the game posted a 14.0 household rating, the second highest rated Nationals game ever locally
TBS’s exclusive coverage of the 2017 National League Division Series – the Chicago Cubs vs. Washington Nationals and Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Los Angeles Dodgers – averaged 3.7 million total viewers, an increase of 29 percent over last year’s LDS on the network. The 2017 NLDS coverage also garnered 28 percent growth among adults 18-49 and increases of 27 percent in adults 25-54 and 12 percent in men 18-34.
