Thursday Overnights: Football Rules on Fox; ABC Disney Special Not So Magical

NBC Animated LEGO Special Attracts Minimal Interest

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 2018

Household Rating/Share
Fox: 10.7.18, CBS: 4.7/ 8, ABC: 2.4/ 4, NBC: 2.0/ 3, CW: 0.9/ 1

-Percent Change from the Year-Ago Evening:
Note: Football aired on NBC one year earlier.
NBC: +365, CW: -10, CBS: -23, ABC: -31, NBC: -75

-Ratings Scorecard:
As expected, Thursday Night Football (Dallas Cowboys 13, New Orleans Saints 10) led Fox to overnight victory. The 8:30-10 p.m. portion of the game (which does not include the portion on the NFLN), scored a stellar 11.8 rating/19 share in the household overnights. Full game results will be posted later today at programminginsider.com.

In the original specials department, “The Wonderful World of Disney: Magic Holiday Celebration” on ABC was not so magical at a 2.3/ 4 from 9-11 p.m.

On NBC, two-part animated special “LEGO: Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit” averaged a mere 1.3/ 2 in the 8 p.m. If you missed it (and apparently many did), it will be repeated on Syfy.

Next on NBC was “Will & Grace” at a 2.3/ 4 in the 9 p.m. half-hour. Has anyone noticed how far this sitcom has fallen year-to-year? And that led into waiting-to-be axed clinked “I Feel Bad” at 9:30 p.m. (#4: 1.3/ 2) and granddaddy “Law & Order: SVU” at 10 p.m. (#2: 3.0/ 6). Comparably, “SVU” trailed “S.W.A.T.” on CBS (#2: 3.9/ 7) by 23 percent.

On CBS, encore telecasts of “The Big Bang Theory” (#2: 5.6/ 9 at 8 p.m.) and prequel “Young Sheldon” (#2: 5.3/ 9 at 8:30 p.m.) led into typical overnights for “Mom” (#2: 5.2/ 8) and “Murphy Brown” (#2: 4.3/ 7) in the 9 p.m. hour. Despite Diane English’s comments yesterday, I highly doubt “Murphy Brown” will return next season.

Also original last night was The CW’s combination of dramas “Supernatural” (#5: 1.0/ 2 at 8 p.m.) and uneventful recent entry “Legacies” (#5: 0.7/ 1 at 9 p.m.).
