Ricky Nelson sang for first time on ABC sitcom “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet” in 1957, performing the song “I’m Walking”…In 1983, NBC launched drama “Casablanca, based on the classic 1942 theatrical. It starred David Soul (“Starsky and Hutch”), Scatman Crothers and Hector Elizondo…Short-lived CBS crime drama “Double Dare, headlined by Billy Dee Williams and Ken Wahl, debuted in 1985. Six episodes aired…“America’s Most Wanted” debuted in 1988 and was canceled by Fox in September 1996. Two months later, the network reversed its decision and “AMW “stayed on the network through June 18, 2011. After a brief revival on Lifetime it was canceled again on March 28, 2013 and now is back on Fox and hosted by Elizabeth Vargas…NBC launched sitcom “Nearly Departed, starring Eric Idle and Caroline McWilliams (“Benson”) in 1989. It was loosely based on theatrical “Topper” and aired for only four episodes…In 1997, NBC launched sitcom “Fired Up,” starring “NYPD Blue’s” Sharon Lawrence. It aired on Monday as part of the network’s “Must She TV” comedy brand on the evening (which was derived from “Must See TV”).

Movies:
“House of Wax,” the first color 3-D theatrical from a major American studio premiered nationwide in 1953…“12 Angry Men”, directed by Sidney Lumet, starring Henry Fonda and Lee J. Cobb, was released in 1957.

Music:
Paul McCartney announced the breakup of The Beatles in 1970.

The first, at age six, was “Thunder Alley” on ABC from 1994-95. And the second, which began on ABC and ended on NBC, was “The Jeff Foxworthy Show” from 1995 to 1997. He also appeared for six episodes as Murphy’s (Candice Bergen) son Avery on CBS’ “Murphy Brown.” Jake McDorman took over the role of Avery in the reboot of “Murphy Brown” last season.
