Tuesday Overnights: ‘America’s Got Talent’ Leads NBC to Victory

'Bachelor in Paradise' Concludes for the Season on ABC

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2018

Household Rating/Share
NBC: 5.4/ 9, CBS: 3.6/ 6, ABC: 3.0/ 5, Fox: 1.4/ 2, CW: 0.5/ 1

Percent Change From the Year-Ago Week:
ABC: +58, CBS: +16, Fox: + 8, NBC: – 8, CW: -17

NBC, of course, held a solid advantage in the Tuesday household overnights thanks to “America’s Got Talent,” which at a 7.0 rating/12 share from 8-10 p.m. stood well above anything else last night. Comparably, that bested the season-finale of ABC’s gooey “Bachelor in Paradise” (#3: 3.6/ 6 from 8-10 p.m.) by a hefty 94 percent. And it led into 10 p.m. special, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine Presents NBC Fall 2018,” at a modest 2.1/ 4 in the hour. While I understand why NBC kept “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” alive after Fox swung the axe, there is no reason to think many viewers will watch it.

Also original last night was failing CW drama “The Outpost” at a modest 0.5/ 1 in the 9 p.m. hour, and uneventful ABC realty series “Castways” at a 1.6/ 3 at 10 p.m. Fox, meanwhile, could not compete with its 8-10 p.m. pairing of “Beat Shazam!” (#4: 1.6/ 3) and “Love Connection” (#4: 1.1/ 2).

What follows are the household overnight ratings for Tuesday, August 28 broken out by half-hour:
