Alex Rodriguez Gets Expanded Role at Fox Sports
The 14-time All-Star who received positive reviews for his studio gigs during Fox Sports’ coverage of the 2015 and 2016 MLB postseasons will remain with Fox under a new multi-year deal. Rodriguez continues his studio analyst role but will also serve as a game analyst for select Fox Saturday Baseball telecasts and as a featured reporter for Fox’s MLB pregame coverage and FS1’s MLB Whiparound. He was part of the 2009 World-Champion New York Yankees team.

Legendary Baseball TV Director Bill Webb Passes Away at 66
Iconic and influential baseball television director Bill Webb, also known by his nickname “Webby”, died on Tuesday, March 7 at the age of 66 after a long battle with cancer. He directed televised baseball games for almost four decades, most of the time with the New York Mets. Webb was also a part of working and/or directing 17 MLB World Series, 20 MLB League Championship Series and 18 MLB All-Star Games — the vast majority of them for Fox. A 30-time Sports Emmy award-winner and, since Nov. 2016, an inductee of the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame, Webb was noted for helping create the look of modern baseball telecasts that featured quick cuts, player close-ups and crowd reaction shots. Webb is survived by his wife and three children.
